POSITION SUMMARY:

TPRC is looking for a dynamic and engaging Peer Support Worker who will responsible for ensuring prospects, clients, and family members have a point of contact for support and guidance into Turning Point Recovery Center’s programs and services. They will maintain the continuity of care with clients as they transition from detox into intensive outpatient programming, sober living, and aftercare. Throughout this process, they will maintain active communication with Turning Point supervisors and clinicians to best support the recovery goals of clients served. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Act as the liaison between Turning Point Recovery Center and clients or potential clients in need of recovery services
  • Be able to communicate Turning Point Recovery Center’s general programs, including inpatient detox, outpatient detox, intensive outpatient programming, sober living and aftercare.
  • Provide peer support and assertive outreach from initial contact and recovery guidance throughout a client’s treatment; including support during the detox process and encouragement of clients to attend recovery meetings, make healthy recovery contacts, and call when in need of help.
  • Work with the clinical team to build a continuum of client care and, when indicated, help guide clients towards a higher or lower level of care.
  • Assist clients with paperwork for Assessments and, when appropriate, sober-living.
  • Complete documentation in the company’s EHR and communicate regularly with supervisors on any issues that arise with clients.
  • Attend weekly clinical staff meetings
  • Meet with their Clinical and Peer Supervisor regularly as scheduled
  • Assist with UDS collections
  • Hold peer led support groups when necessary or scheduled
  • Other peer related duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Peer Support Worker certificate
  • CPR Certification
  • Minimum of two years of recovery related experience
  • Minimum of two years of sobriety
  • High school diploma or equivalent

● High level of charisma, punctuality, reliability, and integrity.

● High level of emotional and social intelligence.

● Interest in the treatment of chemical dependency

● Able to meet the physical and mental requirements of the job.
● Knowledge of Microsoft office suite; Microsoft word; Microsoft excel and internet software and EMR.
● Use/storage/maintenance of multiple usernames and passwords.

● Use of Chrome (electronic file-handling).

● A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.
